UI/UX Designer

Design the websites, apps and business systems we build.

About the role

You'll design websites, apps and business systems for our clients, as well as our own product. Working closely with engineers, you'll take work from information architecture to visual design and make every screen easy to use.

What you'll do

  • Interviewing clients and clarifying problems and requirements
  • Information architecture, wireframes and prototypes
  • UI design for websites, apps and business systems
  • Building and maintaining design systems
  • Usability testing and improvement
  • Working with engineers to make sure the build matches the design

Requirements

  • 5+ years of UI/UX design for web services and apps
  • Design, prototyping and component design in Figma
  • Owning design from information architecture through visual design
  • Building or maintaining a design system
  • Design experience in agency or client work
  • Working alongside engineers through implementation
  • A portfolio (required)
  • Japanese at JLPT N2 or above, plus business-level Korean or English
  • Able to work flexibly across Japan, Korea and US time zones, and to help when urgent issues come up
  • Uses generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or GitHub Copilot in everyday work
  • At least one year of experience working fully remotely
  • Comfortable working asynchronously and in writing, in tools like Slack and Notion
  • Able to sign a contractor or employment agreement with a US company from your country of residence

  • Front-end skills in HTML and CSS
  • Planning and running user research and usability tests
  • Designing multilingual interfaces
  • Designing business systems and admin tools (B2B SaaS)
  • Motion and interaction design
  • An AI-assisted design workflow (research, image generation, prototyping)
  • Business-level Japanese, Korean and English
