Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

You'll design, build and run the cloud environments behind our clients' systems, and look after their wider IT: business tools, accounts and more. You'll lead the work of keeping everything both stable and secure.

What you'll do

• Designing, building and running cloud environments on AWS and Google Cloud
• Managing infrastructure as code with Terraform
• Building CI/CD and release pipelines
• Monitoring, logging, backups and incident response
• Managing client IT: business tools, domains and accounts
• Planning and implementing security measures, and optimizing cost

Requirements

• 5+ years of designing, building and running infrastructure on AWS or Google Cloud
• Setting up, running and troubleshooting Linux servers
• Hands-on infrastructure as code with Terraform or similar
• Designing and running DNS, email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and SSL/TLS
• Designing monitoring and alerts, and handling production incidents from first response to root cause
• Hands-on security design: IAM, account management and access control
• Administering Google Workspace or Microsoft 365
• Japanese at JLPT N2 or above, plus business-level Korean or English
• Able to work flexibly across Japan, Korea and US time zones, and to help when urgent issues come up
• Uses generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or GitHub Copilot in everyday work
• At least one year of experience working fully remotely
• Comfortable working asynchronously and in writing, in tools like Slack and Notion
• Able to sign a contractor or employment agreement with a US company from your country of residence

Nice to have

• AWS certification (such as Solutions Architect – Professional) or Google Cloud certification
• Running container platforms on Kubernetes
• Experience in a corporate IT department
• Involvement in security certifications such as ISMS or SOC 2
• Running several client environments in parallel
• Using generative AI to automate operations and analyze incidents
• Business-level Japanese, Korean and English
